It’s been almost 7 years since my good friend, Reni, passed away after a 4 year battle with breast cancer. One of our last travels together was for my 40th birthday, and her 41st birthday to Las Vegas. Well, I’m about to go to Las Vegas again, and thought I’d repost this, which was first posted on creditinfocenter.com right after she died.
I’ve knew her most of my life up until that point, since the age of 4, we grew up around the corner from each other. She was my next door neighbor until her unfortunate passing. I call her Reni (pronounced reeny) because I had a tough time pronouncing “Maureen” when I was 4.
She was one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met. I don’t know of one person who doesn’t have any thing but glowing praise to say about her. She was selfless, kind, sweet, intelligent, a friend who listened and gave whatever she had. In many ways, she was closer to me than my own sister.
Halloween 1971. Yours Truly (Kristy, back left) with Maureen (back right). That’s my sister Kathy hamming it up in front. |

I miss you!! 😥
