Electromagnetic Theories of consciousness

From Wikipedia:

The electromagnetic field theory of consciousness is a theory that says the electromagnetic field generated by the brain (measurable by electrocorticography) is the actual carrier of conscious experience.

The article goes into the physics, which, as presented make sense to me.

Several thoughts came into my mind. One of them is that maybe this is why a full moon affects people and they go crazy. It’s when the earth is the closest, and the greatest magnetic pull. It’s also the reason why physical health affects personality. If the blood is low sugar or anemic, the magnetc feild is not going to be the same.

Another thought – sometimes that’s why you can actually feel another’s personality or be affected by it in some way.

Very, very interesting.

Current Tarot Reading

November 1st, 2010 · No Comments

Sounds good to me – bring it on!

Context – The Sun

Unlike the mysterious Moon, the Sun is bright and bold opposite. Its heat and vitality should reflect your own ambition and self-confidence. Creative energy can make all the difference if you are willing to follow that dream. It is a card of action and accomplishment, and will also bring satisfaction of a job well done. Great things are going to happen, and you can look forward to pleasant times. Though things are working out, be careful not to take on more than you can handle.

Focus – Justice

As the statue of justice weighs your fate on the scales, you too much apply a sense of balance to your own life. All situations can benefit from diplomacy and fairness, so you need to see both sides of an issue before you can know your right path. Your choice may be between logic and emotion, that may not always be the case when you find this card. There are two views on everything, you need to balance that out before you can make any positive choices.

Outcome – Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups symbolizes a very emotional time approaching, quite often the beginning of a relationship (usually romantic, but not always). When emotions are bottled up, it can be a great release to finally let them out to overwhelm you. Allow your heart to take the lead and guide you in your decisions right now. Your inner voice knows what it is talking about, so take heed.

Camping Rim of Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon

June 4th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Directions from Phoenix: (all mileage #’s are ROUGH estimates)
From I-17 to the I-40 junction at Flagstaff. Go west on I-40. Turn right at the Flagstaff Ranch Road exit. Go to the stop sign and turn right onto Old Route 66. Turn right at the Woody Mountain Campground onto Forest Road 231 (Woody Mountain Road) for 21 miles and watch for Forest Road 231A. Do not take Forest Road 231A but continue along Forest Road 231 for another .8 of a mile, looking for the second turnoff to the right. This is FR 231E and is also signed “Fernow Draw.” Stay on the main road and drive another 10-15 miles. We will be camping on the right side of the road on the edge of the canyon.
