Planning for Burning Man
February 10th, 2009 · No Comments
OK – I’m going to need to plan for this trip now that I’m going.
There are four main things to plan:
1. Menu
2. Costumes/Theme
3. Solar Energy Set Up. I want to do solar cookers, lighting and maybe power up an internet wi-fi station. I think I can do it.
4. Trade.

Well, I could give the lame excuse that I’ve been busy, but really it’s true.
I’m back with a winning article:
Christians and Atheists Battle in London Bus Wars
Beginning Feb. 9, three separate Christian groups will launch advertisements on more than 200 of London’s buses to convince pedestrians of God’s existence. The move follows a month-long campaign by atheists, agnostics and other non-believers that saw 800 London buses plastered with: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

Go Barack!
January 20th, 2009 · No Comments
Ok, you know I’m political – but this is the first time that I’m actually excited about a president. I hope this isn’t like a romance that fades. It probably will, but I’ll just enjoy the feelings right now.
And of course, my sister and I are celebrating like fine Irish women we are – we’re going to the “Barack Bar” (in real life it’s the “Rock Bar”) here in Denver to hoist a pint.

Scary Stuff
January 7th, 2009 · No Comments
Was driving to Copper Mountain yesterday and it was very icy on I-70. About a mile before the exit to Copper, I was about 5 car lengths behind this Toyota 4Runner in the passing lanes. Suddenly it starts fish-tailing, goes into the right lane in front of the car it was just trying to pass. I was thinking, oh crap, I’ll be involved in this accident of these cars. Then the car in the right lane barely misses the Toyota by a hair as the Toyota slid by it towards the snow bank.
Just when I thought the Toyota was going to merely crash into the side snow bank, it points right at the snow bank and launches over it. Good thing there wasn’t a ravine down there. It landed on its side. About 5 cars pulled off to help as I was reaching to dial 911. Everyone else on the highway slowed down to a crawl.
