Rocky Point Mexico!

Mexico Automobile Insurance

Never drive in Mexico without first obtaining Mexican Automobile Insurance. Most American Insurers do not provide coverage in Mexico.

Mexico Car insurance may be purchased at many locations. Day coverage, week coverage and even annual coverage policies are available at a very reasonable cost. Daily coverage for liability for a $20,000 vehicle will normally run $10-20 per day. The longer period the policy is for, the lower the average daily cost.

There are many reputable providers where you can purchase your insurance on the way to your getaway in Rocky Point.... Just look for the Mexico Insurance signs along the way.

Ajo

Ajo is a great place to purchase your Mexico Insurance if you had not previously done so.

I always use Barbara Phillips (Sanborn's Insurance) in Ajo “Her insurance company ” is located on the right hand (west) side of the highway approximately 1/2 mile before you get to the big Texaco gas station. in Ajo. A great advantage to dealing with “this office” is that you can call them ahead of time and have your policy ready and waiting for you. If you are going to pass through outside normal business hours, you can call ahead and they can have a policy waiting for you that you can pick up even if they are closed. Put your check in the slot through the door, and pick up your policy from the mail box. No sweat. If you happen to catch Ray in the office, he and his wife are extremely friendly and nice. Ray Phillips can be contacted at:

Barbara Phillips

You can use Sanborns in Ajo. This is the first Sanborn's insurance company you'll see when coming through Ajo. I just prefer Barbara's office.
“Sanborns” is located on the right hand (west) side of the highway approximately 1/2 mile south of the first 45 MPH speed limit sign as you are entering Ajo. Dealing with “Sanborns” is like dealing with Ray Phillips: you can call them ahead of time and have your policy ready and waiting for you. If you are going to pass through outside normal business hours, you can call ahead and they can have a policy waiting for you that you can pick up even if they are closed. “Sanborns” can be contacted at 1-(800) 293-2560.

Why

About ten miles down the highway you can purchase insurance and gas up in Why, AZ at either Steve & Sandys "Why Not Store"(520) 387-7783, or across the highway at Joe Flores & Sons Chevron (520) 387-9921.

All Mexico insurance premiums are controlled by the Mexican government so costs are the same everywhere.
